My partner and I are going to be doing a commercial advertising Nike. This commercial is one that we hope to be filled with passion and creativity. To film the commercial, we will mostly likely go outside on campus to record. We may potentially borrow equipment from around the school to add to it. To start the process, we will create a storyboard of the commercial to visualize and script it. Next, we will look it over and perfect it, and get ready to film. Once we arrive in Media Studies for 8th period, we will leave when allowed to find a good filming location. We will most likely find a part of the campus with stairs, to film ourselves exercising or running with the shoes. We will do several takes, and afterwards, we will look them over to find the best one. When we are finished recording, we will digitally add in sound effects, like music and voiceovers. We will also add in the visuals, like the Nike logo and the slogan, which will be at the end of the video. This entire process will take multiple days to complete, as it would be difficult to do everything in a single day. However, it should be enjoyable to get to work on it. After searching and watching many other Nike commercials, I am noticing similarities and differences. One thing that they have in common is that they touch on the passion and determined spirit that comes with athleticism. This emotion is used in many Nike commercials because it is something that many people, especially sports fans, can relate to. These commercials also differ in how they advertise their products. For example, some commercials show very significant and emotional sports games to portray the fans' love of sports, in order to sell their product. Others use voiceovers and lack music in order to emphasize the power of the product. I took note of these tactics in hopes that our commercial could achieve something similar.
